Heath sits down with life long friend and bird dog expert Chad Wheeler. Chad is recognized for judging some of the bigger bird dog trials, like the Grand National Grouse Championships, several Regional Championships and most recently the Southern Bird Hunters Association (SBHA) Mega Invitational.
Chad and Heath take a deep dive into selecting breeding stock, selecting pups and evaluating pups from a young age. They talk about some training methods to prevent some disqualifying faults such as gun shyness and aggression.
This is a great episode to find out how bird dog breeders and trainers continue to have higher success rates in litters for solid working dogs and how we can apply that knowledge to our hounds.
