On this episode of the Nomadic Outdoorsman Dan talks hunting buddies Zach Hopper and Sam Maedke all about turkey hunting. Dan shares that he thinks turkey hunting is overrated as Zach and Sam share about their obsessions and successes during turkey season.
Zach has been hunting and fishing since he was 5 years old. Now at 23 he works as the head of marketing for Buck Gardner Calls and is obsessed with waterfowl and turkey hunting. He has a bachelors degree in marketing from Ole Miss and lives in north Mississippi. Zach started waterfowl hunting over 10 years ago and it quickly became his passion. Over the last 10 years he has traveled more and more and hunting new places but still loves to hunt his duck lease in the Mississippi Delta.
Sam is not only a multi-time state champion duck and goose caller, he is also Dan’s cousin and played a huge role in Dan getting into the sport. Sam lives in Two Rivers WI where he is part of N.E.W. Outdoors. Sam is currently helping revamp the goose call line at Buck Gardner Calls where he and Dan both serve as Expert Staff Members. Sam spends his free time scouting or getting his friends and family out into the field.
