In the past few years, the prices of cellular trail cams and their respective data plans have dropped significantly and made it a more available tool for more and more hunters to get the instant intel that this technology provides.

What do you think about a cell cam ban in your home state? Listen to Jacob approach both sides and get a sense of where you stand on this issue.

Spy History, Firearms, Gadgets & The International Spy Museum

Firearms
Strategy

On today’s show with GunBroker.com, we’re talking all about spies! We open up with Allen going over the International Spy Museum. He talks about technology that we use today in our everyday life that at one point was used by spies in military aspects. One of those examples is Bluetooth, which was an early spy communication and also used as a torpedo guidance system that we now use for things like talking on our phones in our cars or to connect your smartwatch to your phone. Logan dives into just how crazy the secrecy is within the espionage world and gives an incredible example of the DEER gun, which most intelligence agencies still deny its existence. Tune into this episode brought to you by GunBroker.com, to hear all about espionage and the world of spies!

We dive into the history of Wild Bill Donovan and how he’s linked to Ian Fleming, the author of James Bond novels. Ian Fleming was asked by Bill Donovan to put together a memo that then became the charter document for the OSS, the precursor to the CIA. There’s a rumor that as a thank you for the memo, Ian Fleming was gifted a Colt Police Positive that was chrome plated and engraved “For Special Services” by Bill Donovan but that gun has yet to be seen!

Closing out we go over our favorite bits of espionage history. The group has some interesting favorites, from using a civilian to take out your target, to trying to assassinate Fidel Castro by poisoning his beard. We also go over if everyone could only have one piece of spy gear, what would they choose to have? Dan tells us about being disappointed that his first ever pair of dress shoes didn’t have a hidden compartment. If you could get your hands on one piece of spy gear what would you choose?

The show launches every Thursday morning. Subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.

On this episode of Huntavore, Nick is joined by Justin Spruiell of the Armed Forces Initiative of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers. Justin is a volunteer who dedicates his time toward his passion for the outdoors and being able to explore the amazing landscapes of our public lands. Not only are the lands important but Justin shares my passion for wild harvests becoming amazing table fare, He gives details on an incredible dish for ducks. One heck of a great conversation on this episode of Huntavore.

So often in the Armed Forces, we hear about the strain on mental health. The obvious being combat and active fighting, yet the isolation and distance from loved ones can be daunting. I will be the first to acknowledge that I have no understanding of this. My guest Justin Spruiell does. He served as military police in several places, one in particular was Germany, where through a traumatic event, he found a way to get off base and fish some of the amazing rivers in Europe. Fast forward to now he works for BHA/AFI. Connecting veterans and active members with the outdoors in a recreational, mission oriented atmosphere. BHA has seen how this initiative has grown so quickly that the Armed Forces will soon have their own Chapter here in 2024. Being familiar in fatigues, and with an apron, Justin flexes his small game/waterfowl muscles on a Korean style duck dish sure to get any waterfowler excited.

How to Hunt Deer

Does Your Hunting Property Need A Tune-Up?

Big Game

Deer season is winding down for many if not most, and it's time to sit back and reflect on our season. Did you get the buck you were after? Did you see the deer numbers you thought you should be seeing? Did the deer use your property in predictable ways? Were you able to access your hunting locations without bumping deer? All of these questions may reveal that our season could have been better from a deer hunting perspective. So what if you're unhappy with how your season went? If that's you, it just might be time for a hunting property tune-up.

In this episode of the How to Hunt Deer Podcast, Josh talks with Sam Bilhorn of Whitetail Partners about evaluating your hunting property and when it might be time to call in a consultant. Sam has year of experience with on-site whitetail hunting property consultation and provides top-tier habitat and hunting plans to his clients. Over the years, Sam has learned what works to attract and hold deer, and to influence their movement across your hunting property. Whether you just bought a new property, lease ground that you can manipulate, or have hunted the same 40 acres for decades, Sam can help take your deer hunting to the next level. Tune in to hear how Sam evaluates his hunting season, how he scouts his property once the season is over, and how he designs hunting properties to provide excellent hunting for his clients.

Hey everyone, welcome to episode 206 of the Antler Up Podcast!

On this week's episode I was joined by Dan Johnson! Dan is the founder of the Sportmen’s Empire that hosts not only the Antler Up Podcast but over 20 awesome podcasts.  Dan is also the owner of Full Sneak Gear which is a lifestyle clothing brand geared towards us hunters.  The other aspect of Dan that I find extremely relatable is that he is a  family man and a die hard bowhunter.  So, I wanted to have Dan on the show to discuss some current happenings in his life but also to hear his take on what it means and takes to be successful.  Tune in and enjoy this episode with the one and only Dan Johnson.

We led things off by talking about the frustration Dan and I have with that dang Elf we have to put out nightly before Christmas.  I am sure some of you will share in this laugh that we had.  Following this, Dan gets into it for what he believes has helped him be successful at hunting, running multiple businesses and winning the home life!  The key aspect of all three is discipline.  I couldn’t agree more with this statement, so no better way to kick off the first 2024 podcast than to hear how discipline can help you succeed in the new year!  Stay safe in the woods and enjoy this fun episode and see you next week!

Thanks again for all the support and best of luck out there and Antler Up!

On this week's episode of the Pennsylvania Woodsman, Mitch catches up with Nate Thomas from the Missouri Woods and Water Podcast, also on Sportsmen's Empire.  The two catch up over deer season, and Nate shares that 2023 deer season was a little tougher than years past.  While he had success in many ways, from taking kids hunting and his brother-in-law harvesting one of the target bucks, things just did not align for Nate's tag to get filled.  A change in scenery is just what the doctor ordered - coyote hunting!

Nate, Micah, and Andy have really invested time and money into the tools of the trade to coyote hunt throughout the calendar year.  The hunt dynamic compared to deer hunting is distinctly different in Nate's eyes, which is why he enjoys it so much.  We discuss tools of the trade: what are essential pieces of equipment, and what are the things that after using for a season you learned were a waste of money?  Nate shares a few exciting hunting experiences with us as well, which is a perfect way to begin the winter portion of predator hunting!

In this episode, Jon Teater (Whitetail Landscapes) and Skip Sligh (Iowa Whitetail) discuss Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD), Deer Health, Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD), Baiting and Supplemental Feeding.  Skip discusses deer fertility, antler and body size and the benefits of supplemental feeding.  Skip is pro-supplemental feed and anti-baiting, specifically against feeding corn from a bait pile. Skip discusses his rationale and why this may be harmful to the overall health of our deer herd.

Skip explains the biological and scientific detriments of corn and how to supplement feed the right way to ensure deer health is preserved. Skip explains his opinion on bait piles versus food plots. Skip details the timelines related to his food plots and how the food remains available to deer all season. Skip explains the most nutrient dense food source for deer. Jon discusses options to utilize baiting and what you can do to help yourself or limit your neighbors.

Skip discusses the areas of the north with large vast forests and describes the best practices to attract and feed deer. Jon discusses tree species and what deer want in various trees and shrubs. Jon explains an option that creates greater interest than soybeans for deer on the landscape.  Skip and Jon discuss the process of timber stand improvement, Skip describes how to set up your property and why certain setups allow you to hold mature bucks.

First Episode of Michigan Wild for 2024 is with Eric Mckay. Eric Mckay joins Nate this week recapping his 2023 fall. Eric had a stellar fall, he was able to shoot a bull elk and harvest 4 whitetail bucks between Michigan and Illinois. Eric has chased whitetails in Michigan for almost 25 years and has headed west for 12 seasons, so this fall reflected years of hard work and determination. He has learned how to strike when the time is right and stay persistent throughout the fall. He discusses some of his insights he has learned over the years that has led to having better hunts and ultimately more success. He no longer just volume hunts and isn't afraid to be mobile and try new things every year.

Even with a stellar fall it came with its fair share of adversity which Eric didn't shy away from. Having a few arrow deflections and wounding deer was something Eric used as fuel to tweak a few things in his craft. Something that Nate also can relate to and along with Eric hopes encourages fellow hunters to keep working through the adversity.

This Hunt Stinks!

Today’s show opens up with Brad going over his recent weekend hunting. It’s been quite slow with only one older mature buck on camera, and hardly any deer moving during daylight hours! He decided to give a hunt a go anyway but unfortunately it was very slow, besides the fact that a whole bus load of squirrels decided to play tag around his stand. His biggest problem is that he has absolutely no cover at all in the tree he’s in, which has made his spot very difficult to hunt. He decided to bounce his stand around to a different spot to hopefully score a little meat before the end of season. Make sure to listen in to this episode Sponsored by GunBroker.com to hear all about his new approach to hunting this area.

Closing out we discuss smells in the deer woods. From your own scent drag, to sitting up right on top of a scrape on accident we talk everything deer pee. Dan has a hilarious story about smelling deer on a recent hunt, well what he thought was deer. You’ll never guess what he was actually smelling instead. Along this topic Jacob and Brad talk about going to tour the Tink’s factory where all their products are made, and let me tell you that trip absolutely stunk! Tune in to hear all about the fun times they had touring the Tink’s facility.

Hunting and Family with My Wife Mackenzie

Bowhunting

A fan favorite is back on the Oklahoma Outdoors Podcast this week. John's wife Mackenzie joins him this week to talk about hunting, family, kids, and the balance of it all. This episode was a hit last year, so John decided to double down and go for round two. John and Mackenzie start off by talking about how much more challenging this hunting season was now that their daughter Hallee is getting older and fully mobile. Hallee is at the age where she needs constant supervision and is always getting into things. So when John took off for the deer stand it put a lot more pressure on Mackenzie. On the other side of the coin, John felt that same pressure which made leaving much harder on him.

The hope of this episode is to help all couples out there know that they are not alone. Life balance is tough, no matter if it's hunting, work, or just the hustle of modern day society. John and Mackenzie have found that communication and expectations are monumental in retaining a healthy relationship during the fall, and honestly year around. They go through the things that have helped them communicate better and get through a fun, but challenging state of life. Even if you are young, single, and ready to mingle, this episode is packed full of good lessons for the future.

All About Airgun History

Firearms

On today’s show with GunBroker.com, we’re talking all about airgun history! We open up with Logan diving into one of the most iconic uses of an airgun in U.S. history as part of the Lewis & Clark Expedition. One of the main benefits of taking an airgun is they packed a whole lot lighter than a muzzle loader. With an airgun you just needed the pellets and a maintenance kit. Airgun history goes back way into the late 1500s across the world in places like China and Germany. We also share our thoughts on where we think the actual gun from the Lewis & Clark Expedition is today, make sure to check out this episode sponsored by GunBroker.com to hear where we believe it is and all about examples of early airguns in the Daisy Airgun Museum.!

Next up, we dive into airgun usage in the military. Daisy has had many government contracts throughout its history, dating all the way back to WWI. Daisy spent some time during the Vietnam War era creating shot for bomblets to clear landing zones for helicopters and also for antipersonnel usage. BB guns were also used for training inexperienced military personnel as an early stepping stone before using an actual firearm.

Closing out, we wade into the world of competitive airgun shooting. Most likely, the majority of shooters in any aspect of firearms started out with a Daisy in their hands. Daisy is and always has been a staple in marksmanship training in early adolescents, with that being a forefront of Daisy’s mission as a multigenerational company. Daisy had a huge part in starting the Daisy Nationals, which has grown exponentially over the years and is an absolutely gigantic event now. We also talk about the Daisy V/L. Tossed up as whether or not it’s a “real” firearm, it was the first ever example of caseless ammunition. The guns themselves can be found out there, however the ammunition is extremely hard to find. Make sure if you’re interested in a V/L head over to GunBroker.com to see some awesome examples of this amazing firearm!

Diehard trappers have already been hitting the field hard, however, those that think about deer hunting commonly start thinking about trapping now.  Bobcat and Fisher season began earlier this month and is over halfway through, Beaver season is underway, and Otter will open in February.  On this week's episode of the Pennsylvania Woodsman, Mitch chats with Tom Keller all about trapping, specifically Beaver and Otter.  Tom is the state furbearer biologist who has a wealth of knowledge for trappers and outdoorsmen.

We begin our conversation by updating everyone on the PA Marten Restoration Project, which Tom reviewed with us last year around this time (ep 12-9-22; Should Pennsylvania Reintroduce the American Marten?).  From here we dive into trapping.  We start with general trapping information, and then work towards some specifics of Beaver and Otter trapping.  This includes understanding food sources, scouting, homeranges, trapping sets, and many tips and tactics.  While this episode won't have enough time and information to have you ready to gear up and hit the woods for these critters, it will give new trappers information and old trappers a recap.

The other side of Cody is also relatable to a lot of us in that he is a husband, father, hard worker and coach to a youth football team.  After listening to Cody on his podcast over the past year and following him on social media I found myself relating to a lot of what Cody had to say and love how he has a friends group chat all for accountability.  This episode we get into a mixed bag of deer hunting and life.  From season struggles, success, to being a better person and trying to own the day and more!

We led things off by talking about what is new with Cody and how things are shaping up for him in the deer woods.  Cody kind of has a roller coaster of a year where he decides to spend a ton of his time and effort on the private pieces he hunts.  Well, things didn’t go as planned and had a few miscues, but you can hear in Cody’s voice how and why he is able to stay positive throughout all this!  We discuss these ups and downs and the lessons learned and takeaways that carry over into his everyday life.  From here we chatted about being more accountable at home.  Cody coaches and he shares the importance of this and why he does it.  From his inspiration to being a better father and husband, to helping these kids know they are capable of so much more, Cody shares it and I hope it fires you up for the new year ahead! Stay safe in the woods and enjoy this fun episode and see you next week!

Thanks again for all the support and best of luck out there and Antler Up!

In this episode, Jon Teater (Whitetail Landscapes) and Steve Sherk (Sherk’s Guide Service) discuss post hunting season planning and recent success. Jon explains the differences in hiring a consultant that has experience in highly pressured hunting areas and how that creates a different atmosphere of understanding and knowledge. Steve discusses a particular deer he planned to harvest and explains multiple encounters with this deer and his process to dialing in on one individual deer.

Steve dialogs about hunting New York and Pennsylvania, and his expectations of shooting a deer in his home state. Steve details the location his target deer spent much of his time and the related weather conditions and hunting pressure that created the ideal location for the deer to remain in a specific area. Steve details why deer shift into areas on how to concentrate on predictive planning to stay ahead of deer movement. Jon explains the specifics and considerations on where deer go when they are pressured and the attention given to temperature changes.

Steve discusses how deer act during post rut activity and what conditions put deer into specific locations when pressure is high and deer need to recover from rutting activity. Jon provides the top several considerations when looking at the landscape for deer activity during post rut. Steve talks about getting close to a mature buck and how to dial on a bedding location and individual beds. Steve explains a tracking technique that will help with a wounded animal recovery.

Steve discusses finding buck beds and why mature deer use specific areas. Steve discusses wind-based bedding and when deer use specific landscapes types. Jon explains habitat preferences on the landscape and how to produce ideal conditions for seasonal, winter habitat for deer.  Steve explains his process going into winter planning season and what he anticipates for the next hunting season and provides a story on the individual deer he plans on hunting.

Steve and Jon discuss postseason planning and looking at trail camera data and using this information to kill your buck next season. Jon explains specifics on deer activity and how he individualizes deer and looks at sociobiology and social behavior.  Steve explains his data analysis plan and diving into a specific deer he plans on taking next season.

With deer season winding down across the country, why not get a head start on hunting next year's buck. This week on the Oklahoma Outdoors Podcast, John talks about practical things a hunter can do to start putting themselves in position to tag a buck next year. Trail cameras can do more than just take inventory this time of year, and maybe you shouldn't let those food sources dry up just because you can't hunt them any more. John runs through a list of five things that hunters and land managers can do in the coming weeks to get a jump on 2024. Post season scouting is important, but it is also important to have a plan to maximize efficiency and not do more damage than good.

Today’s show opens up with Brad telling us about his recent hunts out at his suburban hunting spot. He went out in some real rough weather with a tornado watch incoming hoping the deer would be moving beforehand. He got into the stand and then unfortunately the lighting started raining down and headed in his direction quickly! A small window opened up so he went back out and proceeded to be down poured on by the rain. He sat through it hoping a deer would show up soon with rain constantly dropping on top of him. Make sure to listen to this episode Sponsored by GunBroker.com to see how his hunt in the rain panned out.

Up next Brayden dives into his recent quota hunt duck hunting! They headed out for the morning and drew for their spot to hunt. The first day they ended up with their number one spot that they wanted, but unfortunately the spot didn’t reflect what the map showed due to the fields not being flooded early enough! Loaded with new ammo and good spots they spent two days chasing waterfowl, how do you guys think they fared early season in western Kentucky chasing waterfowl?

Closing out we talk about nuisance animals like hogs. We dive into why Kentucky wildlife for a while didn’t want hogs shot at as a way to keep them from being educated by hunters. It’s a gray area in Kentucky on whether or not you’re allowed to kill a hog or not that definitely needs some clarification. We also talk about other invasive species such as lizards and snakes and how bounties have made some people actually breed the animals to collect the bounties. We also talk about how Kentucky Fish & Wildlife is bouncing around the idea to potentially ban cellular trail cameras. It seems the ban would only affect cellular cameras and not normal SD cameras for now but we all know that's a slippery slope once started. How do you guys feel about Kentucky banning cell cameras on public land?

The holiday season is upon us and like everyone this time of year, Pierce & Josh are a little scatter brained... not quite like, "How will it be possible to make it to the in-laws on the same night as a work party?", but more along the lines of should cell cameras actually be legal? What's that one piece of gear the guys couldn't live without this season? Is Josh a hypocrite for telling folks to hunt public land but not telling them where he hunts? (Spoiler Alert: No!) Are we making hunting too easy for kids? How do we walk the line of introducing people to the sport of deer hunting and making them work, while also not sentencing them to a two year suck-fest of cold feet and blown opportunities? Should hunters have to figure it out for themselves or should we be helping one another along? If you like rabbit holes, this episode is for you!

In this week's Deer Season Special Bonus episode of the Pennsylvania Woodsman, Mitch is joined by Nathan Killen.  Nathan is well known for being an avid mountain hunter in the state of Virginia while focusing on mature bucks and also hunting with traditional archery equipment.  If you are trying to learn more about becoming a better mountain whitetail hunter, there are few people whose knowledge surpasses Nathan's - listen to as many podcasts with him as you can!  However, of any podcast he has been on, this episode speaks more wisdom than knowledge.

We touch on the giant 170" buck he recently harvested and the journey leading to the day he pulled the trigger.  But Nathan's message is more about the blessing of this harvest.  Nathan shares with us his faith in Jesus Christ, and how through his faith he has been blessed with more opportunity in life than he could ever imagine.  Nathan shares how he does not feel any deer he harvests is done by him, rather, the glory be to the Father in Heaven who has blessed him with this passion he has become pretty good at!  This episode is an awesome appreciation for the season and the real meaning behind Christmas!  Merry Christmas!

Across most of the whitetail's range, a November rut is the norm. This is because historical climate conditions dictate that fawns must be born during a specific window in order to survive. But across much of the south, this isn't so. In fact, depending on where you are, you might see whitetails breeding during any month of the year! What has created such strange rut timing in the southern US?

In this episode of the Southern Way Hunting Podcast, host Josh Raley talks with Lindsay Thomas Jr. of the National Deer Association about why the rut time is so varied in the Deep South. The guys cover it all, from photoperiod, to stocking deer, to buck/doe ratios. They even get into a conversation about CWD and what hunters in the south should learn from states like Wisconsin that are on the brink of a major deer herd disaster.

On this week's episode of the Pennsylvania Woodsman we are joined by Brad Hruska from Driven Purpose Outdoors.  Brad is a hard working school teacher with a desire to hunt like the rest of us.  Brad is particularly fond of pursuing big whitetails in PA, OH, and anywhere else he can grab a tag.  He is also kind enough to take us with him by filming and sharing his hunts.  But his reason for sharing his hunts are slightly different than you may be used to.

Filming your hunts is work, and hard work like this can be a way to provide income.  With something as ego driven as hunting, it can also be a way of promotion and status in the hunting media.  Brad's focus is promoting the glory of his hunts to God.  Brad's faith in Jesus Christ has led him to using hunting and filming as a ministry tool.  Brad and Mitch discuss the journey of this ministry, and the battles we face as hunters who are also husbands, fathers, brothers, and sons.  Being relationship driven amidst a self seeking interest like bowhunting is difficult, but through the grace of the Lord, Brad has been able to experience and share some cool stuff!  What better way to celebrate this time of year? We talk about firearms and hunting related items we’ve received for Christmas throughout the years and Brad tells us a story about a firearm related Christmas tradition. Brad then dives into his recent hunting trip out to his urban hunting spot. He went out for a morning hunt that didn’t pan out besides seeing a doe so he decided to move his stand to a different spot on the property. Make sure to listen to this episode Sponsored by GunBroker.com to hear all about our weekend hunting!

Next up Dan tells us about his quota hunt at Taylorsville Lake. He saw a few does early but didn’t see a deer that he wanted to take while he was there. He ran into another public hunter who he had an interesting interaction with that had laid out some of the same places as him that he wanted to hunt, so they compared scouting notes and both found a good place to hunt! He bounced around a few spots but unfortunately kept running into non-hunters on this public property that ruined a few really nice potential spots.

Closing out Jacob tells us a quick story about finding a nice whitetail buck dead at a city park in Louisville while he was trail running. All the way back on the trail he spots a large group of vultures so naturally he goes to investigate what they’re back in there for. He then stumbles across a very nice whitetail buck that had been dead for a few days. It was a really nice mature 8-point buck that anyone would’ve been happy to take!

Cooking Wild Hog with the Huntavore

Nick Otto of the Huntavore podcast joins John this week on the Oklahoma Outdoors Podcast. Nick made the long trip from Michigan to Oklahoma last spring to help John with his wild hog problem and try to debunk a few of the myths around cooking wild hog. After the hunt, Nick butchered the hogs into larger primal cuts to take back home and work his magic. It wasn't long before he was sending John photos of beautiful pork that would rival anything you can buy in a grocery store.

Thick cut pork chops, bacon, cured hams, and whole smoked pigs just to name a few of the cuts he tried, and all of them turned out great. Nick also kept track of the size and sex of the hog just to make sure there wasn't any added bias in the results. If you have ever been interested in doing something with all those wild hogs other than throwing them in the ditch, you really need to check out this episode!

On this week's Deer Season Special Bonus episode of the Pennsylvania Woodsman, Mitch chats with Isaac Fisher from Chasin Dreams Outdoorz YouTube channel.  In 2022, Isaac harvested a truly magnificent buck on public land and captured the story on film.  We breakdown this hunt from the start, when Isaac first laid eyes on the deer in a private ag field in summer of 2021.  Many scouting trips were made for this deer, as the drive required him traveling across the state.  We discuss the scouting, cameras, and thought process that led to Isaac closing the chapter one November morning.  It's the kind of story that any deer hunter can dream about!

With mid-December comes one undeniable fact: for most across the whitetail's range, it's the late season. Even folks who cling to hope for second rut activity must now pivot and return to the basics of food, bed, and travel in between. While late season hunting can be as simple as food + cover = deer, there is some nuance to it. So in this episode of the How to Hunt Deer Podcast, Josh talks with Pierce Nelles about their late season deer hunting strategy.

Walther PPK & James Bond

Strategy
Firearms

On today’s show with GunBroker.com, we’re talking with Cody from Walther, Dan Hood from GoWild, and Caleb from Commando Bond all about Walther and their connection to James Bond. We open up with Caleb telling us about his new book he is curating that tells the entire history of James Bond. This book will be a one stop shop for all things Bond, covering history from the novels all the way through cinema. His book will feature interviews with Bond authors, conversations with the brand behind Bond’s tools, and have real world stories that are tied to the Bond firearms. Make sure to tune into this episode Sponsored by GunBroker.com to hear all about it and all about Bond’s history with the Walther PPK.

Next up Cody dives into Walther’s perspective of the PPK being the “James Bond Gun”. Obviously one of the most recognizable firearms in cinema history it makes Cody’s job in marketing a little bit easier for sure. He credits the success of the Bond franchise as one of the main reasons the PPK has had the shelf life longevity that it’s had so far. We also dive into other firearms that James Bond has carried through the years including some of the firearms associated with Bond in novels. During the 1980’s after an unsuccessful assassination attempt on Princess Anne when her bodyguard carried a PPK that unfortunately jammed, the Bond novels started seeing a mix of different firearms. We went through an FN 1910, a few HK models, and then on to the ASP 9MM for 15 novels. We speed up to the 1990’s with the first American, Raymond Benson, writing for the James Bond novels. In his eyes the PPK was always attached to Bond and within the first chapter of Benson’s first book the PPK was back in the hands of Bond where it belongs!

Closing out we talk the most recent bond films and how they incorporate the PPK into the scenes. Caleb tells us his absolute favorite scene possibly ever in a Bond film that incorporates the PPK in the most perfect way possible! If you’re interested in a Walther PPK yourself check out the many available options at GunBroker.com!

Breaking it Down w/ Aaron Hepler

Big Game

Hey everyone, welcome to episode 203 of the Antler Up Podcast!

On this week's episode I was joined by my good friend Aaron Hepler from PA.  Aaron had an eventful 2023 hunting season that had a ton of ups and downs in it.  From having a bunch of encounters with bucks, clipping a buck, to being at full draw and having another hunter walk in to spook the deer while at full draw and to finally filling his buck tag opening morning of the rifle season.  Aaron shares it all during this episode!

We led things off by talking about what Aaron would rate this past season.  Aaron shares how much pressure he saw and what he believes it did to the deer in the spots he hunted. From there we get into the obstacles he faced and we actually discuss a little bit about my success this year.  One key topic that I enjoyed talking with Aaron about was finding balance during the season.  I think this is a critical aspect that might not be shared as much as it should.   Again, we get into these topics and a whole lot more in this episode!  Stay safe in the woods and enjoy this fun episode and see you next week!

Thanks again for all the support and best of luck out there and Antler Up!
